How Workplace Racking Inspection Training Works
HSE guidance recommends a three-level approach to racking safety: employees should report damage as soon as it is noticed; the Person Responsible for Racking Safety (PRRS) should arrange visual inspections weekly or at another interval determined by risk assessment; and a technically competent person should complete an expert inspection at intervals of no more than 12 months.
UK law does not require employees to complete a particular named racking inspection course. Employers must, however, provide suitable information and training and ensure that anyone carrying out safety-related work is competent for the task. Our workplace course helps employees understand the inspection approach described in HSG76 and confidently perform regular visual checks under the direction of the PRRS.
